The Indian government has announced the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), which provides citizenship to minorities from three neighboring countries (Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh). This is seen as a significant decision by the government ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Seema Haider expressed her happiness about the government's decision.

Celebrating with chants of 'Jai Shri Ram' and 'Radhe-Radhe', Seema Haider stated that indeed, Prime Minister Modi has fulfilled his promise.

Seema said, 'I am forever grateful to Modi Ji and his government. I hope to receive my citizenship soon. I also extend my heartfelt thanks to my brother, lawyer AP Singh.'

During this celebration, Seema, her children, and Sachin's family chanted 'The nation's Prime Minister should be like Modi Ji' and also raised slogans praising 'Yogi Modi'.

Similarly, refugees residing in Delhi's Majnu ka Tilla cheered, playing drums and dancing in happiness for the government's decision and appreciating the Modi administration.

It's worth mentioning that before the 2019 general elections, the BJP included the CAA in their manifesto, making it a crucial issue. Home Minister Amit Shah, in his recent election speeches, had repeatedly mentioned implementing the CAA prior to the elections. Now the central government has rolled it out by issuing a notification. The CAA provision allows citizenship to individuals from non-Muslim communities coming from the three Muslim-majority neighboring countries.

The central government has prepared a web portal related to CAA. Minorities from the neighboring Muslim-majority countries are required to register on this portal, and following governmental verification, they will be granted citizenship as per the law.
