North India is grappling with severe heat. Amidst this, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh heatwave warning for the region. The IMD suggests temperatures might once again touch 47 degrees Celsius. Uttar Pradesh is witnessing the brunt of this extreme heat. Meteorologist Soma Sen also indicates that Uttar Pradesh will be among the hottest regions.

The Hottest Areas in Uttar Pradesh

On Monday, temperatures soared above 45 degrees Celsius in seven locations across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh. Prayagraj recorded the country's highest temperature at 46.3 degrees Celsius, followed by Varanasi at 45.3 degrees. Kanpur and Hamirpur also witnessed temperatures crossing 45 degrees.

Heatwave conditions expected to continue across Uttar Pradesh with strong winds of 20-30 km/h.

What's the Weather Outlook for Today?

According to IMD, no relief from the heat is expected in Uttar Pradesh. Dry conditions are likely to prevail throughout the state on June 11. Additionally, gusty winds ranging from 20-30 km/h are anticipated. IMD predicts that eastern Uttar Pradesh might experience heatwave conditions at various places, while western parts are expected to endure from heat to severe heatwave conditions. An orange alert has been issued for today.

Red Alert Issued for Next 3 Days

Subsequently, the situation is expected to worsen. IMD has issued a red alert from June 12 to June 14. During these days, dry weather is likely to continue across Uttar Pradesh, with warnings of severe heatwaves in certain areas. IMD also anticipates a 2-3 degrees Celsius increase in the maximum temperature over the upcoming days, followed by stable conditions. No significant change in minimum temperatures is expected over the next five days.

When Will Monsoon Showers Grace Uttar Pradesh?

Speaking of the monsoon, considering its pace, it's estimated that the monsoon could make its arrival in North India within the next 5 to 6 days. However, the monsoon rains in UP are expected after June 25. It's worth mentioning that the South-west monsoon has already arrived early in the country's western region. Pre-monsoon showers are being witnessed in parts of Gujarat, while Maharashtra is experiencing generous monsoon rainfall. Mumbai, relieved from the scorching heat following the monsoon's arrival two days ago, is now enjoying a welcomed respite.
