A shooting at the Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, Minnesota has shocked the nation. Multiple casualties are feared in this horrific event. A Justice Department official reported that three individuals have died, including two children. The shooter also succumbed to a self-inflicted wound. Additionally, 20 people have been injured, among them 14 children, with two in critical condition.
Local media outlets quoted Governor Tim Walz expressing concern over the number of casualties from this tragedy at the school.
Governor Tim Walz tweeted, "I am closely following the situation at Annunciation Catholic School, and I will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available. Law enforcement is on the scene, ensuring safety and gathering details."
He added, "My prayers go out to the students and teachers, whose first week of school has been marred by this senseless violence."

According to ABC, the shooting occurred as children were exiting the school, raising fears of more casualties. City officials have informed ABC that the shooter has been apprehended, and there is no longer any threat to the public.
The school teaches children from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. Secretary Kristi Noem issued a statement saying that the Department of Homeland Security is closely monitoring the situation, adding, "My thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this heinous attack and their families."
