In a tragic turn of events on a Friday morning, a horrendous accident unfolded in the village of Piplod, Jhalawar district, Rajasthan. The roof of a government high primary school collapsed, resulting in the heartbreaking loss of seven innocent children's lives, with more than a dozen others injured. At the time of the incident, the students were gathered for a morning prayer assembly. Multiple warnings about the condition of the decaying building were given, yet they went unheeded by the administration, leading to this anticipated tragedy. As a consequence, five teachers along with five education department officials have been suspended.
Thanks to the swift actions of the villagers, the children were pulled out from beneath the rubble. The injured were immediately admitted to a nearby health center. According to students and locals, the walls and roof of the school were already in a dilapidated state. Although some plastering was done recently, the conditions did not improve. The building of this school boasts a history of 78 years.
Negligence of Administration Causes Tragedy
A student, Varsha, shared that small stones began falling from the roof. When the worried children informed the teachers, they were scolded and told to sit down. Unfortunately, soon after, the roof collapsed, trapping the children underneath. At the time of this tragic incident, the teachers were having breakfast nearby. Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje expressed her grief, stating that it is an extremely painful incident.

Five Education Department Employees Suspended
After this tragic incident, the village has been engulfed in a state of shock and anger. Relatives and villagers revealed that complaints about the school's condition were raised multiple times, but to no avail. Following the accident, district authorities have taken action by suspending five teachers and five education department officers. Furthermore, District Collector Ajay Singh Rathore announced that a committee has been formed to investigate the matter, and further actions will be taken upon receiving the report.
