Despite being trolled for using 'Ali Khan' in her surname and visiting temples, Sara has responded to critics in an interview.

Sara believes in standing up for what's right and has faced questions about her religious faith. She admits having been pretentious in presenting herself to the world in the past, but now, she has left those days behind.

Born in a Secular Family - Sara

Speaking to Galatta India, Sara said she was born into a secular, sovereign, democratic republic family. She never felt the need to speak out of place because she believes in speaking up only when necessary. However, she has the courage to stand against wrongs, not only affecting her but also those around her. Sara shared that people's opinions on her work matter to her, but her personal life belongs to her and is her right.

I Will Never Apologize - Sara

Speaking on the controversy regarding her surname and family tree, Sara stated that her religious beliefs, food choices, and even her travel to airports are her decisions, for which she will never apologize. Sara is often seen visiting places of worship, sharing glimpses of her spiritual journey with fans. She asserts her belief in temples and mosques alike and has made it clear that these are her choices, about which nobody has the right to question.
