The issue surrounding Sambhal's Jama Masjid in Uttar Pradesh is increasingly heating up. The Hindu side asserts that this mosque is the Shri Harihar Temple. They have filed a petition in court, which, after a hearing, has led the court to order a survey. This has stirred a tense environment in the area, triggering statements from various quarters, including a response from Maulana Mahmood Asad Madani, the head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind. He expressed deep concern over the controversy surrounding the Sambhal Jama Masjid and the court-ordered survey.
Maulana Madani pointed out that historical truths and falsehoods are being mixed, turning communal forces into enemies of peace and order in the country. He stated that unearthing old disputes is shaking the secular foundations of the nation. Attempts to reinterpret historical contexts do not favor national integrity in any way.

Maulana Madani reminded that the nation endured the demolition of the Babri Masjid and continues to grapple with its consequences. Against this backdrop, the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991, was enforced to prevent the country from becoming a hotspot for mosque-temple disputes. The Supreme Court also deemed this act mandatory while delivering its verdict on the Babri Masjid case, yet today, courts seem to overlook it in their judgments.
According to Madani, disputes regarding mosques are being sparked somewhere every passing day, and under the guise of uncovering 'truth,' courts are granting permission for surveys. Subsequently, media channels exploit these surveys to create divisions between communities.

Maulana Madani further stated that while we respect court decisions, it is imperative for the judiciary to consider the implications such decisions might have on the nation and society. Currently, there is hope that the Masjid Intizamia Committee will make every effort to protect the Jama Masjid.
He also assured that if necessary, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind is prepared to provide legal assistance. The President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind appealed to all citizens to maintain patience and tolerance to uphold law and order, urging against undertaking any step that might fulfill the conspiracies of communal forces.
Security Forces Deployed Outside Mosque
At present, following the claim presented in the Sambhal civil judge's court over the Jama Masjid being the Shri Harihar Temple, the first phase of the survey inside the mosque has begun. Consequently, the district police and administration have gone on alert mode. Security measures around the mosque have also been increased.
In front of the main entrance of the Sambhal Jama Masjid, RRF personnel have been deployed. Furthermore, barricades have been set up on routes leading to the mosque, with police officers patrolling these areas. Additionally, police and PAC forces have been positioned at the district's main intersections and several sensitive areas. The Additional SP visited the Jama Masjid to instruct the officers on duty to remain vigilant.
