The renowned Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, is on the verge of a name change. The ASI has set a new nameplate in motion. A fresh signboard, prepared by the Survey Department, has been sent to a local police station. This new sign references the mosque as 'Juma Masjid,' diverging from its well-known title 'Shahi Jama Masjid.'
The blue ASI signboard currently rests at Satyavrat Police Post, soon to replace the older nameplate. ASI lawyer Vishnu Sharma indicated prior installations were removed, reinstating the moniker 'Shahi Jama Masjid.'

The 'Juma Masjid' board has existed in the mosque complex
According to ASI's lawyer, documents reflect the mosque's name as 'Juma Masjid.' Vishnu Sharma noted a blue ASI board bearing this name has long stood within the mosque premises. The ASI, however, has yet to declare a timeline for the installation of the new nameplates.
