The Samajwadi Party has unveiled its third list of nominees for the imminent Lok Sabha elections, presenting five candidates to the forefront. The party strategically positions hopefuls in significant constituencies such as Badaun, Kairana, and Bareilly. A game-changing move in Badaun replaces the initial candidate with Shivpal Yadav at the helm.

Raising the curtain on its third trove of contenders, the Samajwadi Party has fielded Ikra Hasan from Kairana, Shivpal Singh Yadav from Badaun, Praveen Singh Airan from Bareilly, Ajendra Singh Rajput from Hamirpur, and Surendra Singh Patel as the Varanasi pick. Under Akhilesh Yadav's leadership, the party has now unfurled the banners for 32 warriors across 80 parliamentary battlefields.

A Generous Proposal of 17 Seats to Congress

In a political chess move, the Samajwadi Party's latest list surfaces amid generous overtures to the Congress, capping their offer at 17 slots. Akhilesh Yadav reportedly stands firm on not yielding further ground. Previously, an 11-seat proposal was tabled, which Congress continues to discuss with the party for possible expansion.

Cracks in the SP-Congress Alliance

The Samajwadi Party, a pivotal cog in India's opposition alliance for the Lok Sabha elections, finds itself at odds with the Congress. Rumors swirl of a rift so deep that candidate lists were released with no second thoughts. While Congress leaders have critiqued this move, assuring that a coalition list looms, Rahul Gandhi's presence in Uttar Pradesh hasn't bridged the divide with Akhilesh Yadav.

The Samajwadi Party's Candidate Roll Call

The party has to date unfurled three lists of candidates. Marking its territory first on January 30th, it nominated Dimple Yadav for Mainpuri, Shafiqur Rahman Barq for Sambhal, and Ravidas Mehrotra for the Lucknow seat. The second declaration on February 19th saw Afzal Ansari from Ghazipur entering the fray, alongside Harendra Malik from Muzaffarnagar and Usha Verma from Hardoi.
