Attacker Arrested: Saif Ali Khan's Close Call with a Knife in Mumbai

The Bollywood world was shaken as Mumbai Police apprehended the assailant involved in the attack on famed actor Saif Ali Khan. The main perpetrator, identified as Mohammed Aaliyan, also known as BJ, was nabbed in Thane. Reports suggest that it was indeed Aaliyan who broke into Saif Ali Khan's home on the night of January 16, wielding a knife.

Aaliyan, who worked at Ricky's Bar, was caught after he confessed to the invasion and attack on Saif and Kareena's residence. The Mumbai Police swiftly acted, arresting him from Thane's labor camp area.

Using a False Identity to Evade Arrest

Despite trying to evade the authorities by adopting the alias 'Vijay Das', the Ville Parle police managed to secure an arrest. Following his capture, Aaliyan will be interrogated in Bandra.

Before his arrest, the attacker was caught on CCTV footage descending the stairs of Saif Ali Khan's home, and his images were circulated throughout Mumbai to aid in his capture.

A Suspect Detained in Chhattisgarh

Prior to this, a suspect connected to the assault was taken into custody from Durg in Chhattisgarh. Alongside, Mumbai Police apprehended two individuals in Mumbai, all undergoing interrogation. A photograph of the suspect detained in Durg, identified as Akash, was released by authorities.

During initial inquiries with local police, Akash claimed to reside in Mumbai. As per a Mumbai Police official, their team will travel to Durg for further questioning.

The Railway Protection Force apprehended Akash in Durg amidst his travel to Bilaspur. Authorities found a bag labeled 'Fasttrack' with him, matching one seen in CCTV footage from Saif's building and a Dadar mobile shop. Further leads based on mobile location data led to Akash's arrest on the Jnaneshwari Express.

The Night of January 16: A Close Brush with Danger

Around 2 AM on January 16, an unknown individual infiltrated Saif Ali Khan's residence. Alerted by a staff member, Saif confronted the trespasser, leading to a scuffle that resulted in six knife wounds sustained by the actor. One blade even lodged dangerously close to his spine. Following emergency surgery at Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital, Saif Ali Khan is now recovering and out of danger.
