New updates keep pouring in regarding the attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan. Late Wednesday night, the police suggested that theft was the motive behind the attack. They have successfully identified the suspect and are actively searching for him. An FIR has been filed, and the investigation has started in this case.

According to the latest update, the police identified the suspect using a data dump. At the time of Saif Ali Khan's attack, the police extracted a data dump, revealing which mobile networks were active in the area during the incident. Based on this data, the suspect was identified by the police.

A Data Dump consists of information collected from mobile or cell towers. This type of data is utilized for technical diagnostics, forensic investigations, or debugging processes. A cell tower refers to any tower located within a specific area.

Using this data, the police can ascertain which mobile user was present at which location, although this pertains to the mobile phone's location and not the user's. The same method was applied by the police in the case involving Saif Ali Khan. Cell towers store data of all connected mobile phones. Cell tower dump analysis software is used for further investigation.

All mobile phones with active SIM cards are connected to the mobile network. As soon as a phone connects to a mobile network, a log is generated. This log includes an array of details such as IMEI number, MAC Address, IP address, as well as basic metadata and location.

The data possessed by telecom service providers is also utilized by investigative agencies, often requiring court orders. However, acquiring basic metadata can occur without a court order.
