Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked at his residence by Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad, and evidence has emerged of his Bangladeshi nationality. The Mumbai Police Crime Branch discovered his Bangladeshi ID card and driving license. His name is listed as Shariful Islam, with his father recorded as Mohammad Ruhul Amin. His age is noted as 31 years.
The Mumbai Police arrested Bangladeshi national Shariful Islam Shahzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir last Sunday. Using the alias Vijay Das, he was living illegally in Mumbai. Originally from Barisal, Bangladesh, he had been residing in Mumbai for the past five months, doing odd jobs through a housekeeping agency.
According to Mumbai Police, Shariful Islam illegally crossed the Dawki River into India seven months ago. After initially staying in West Bengal for a few weeks, he traveled to Mumbai in search of employment. He acquired a SIM card using another local individual's Aadhaar card. The SIM card is registered under the name Khukmoni Jahangir Sekha.

The crime branch of Mumbai Police is diligently investigating the case. The suspect is in police custody, where he is undergoing continuous interrogation. Several critical pieces of evidence, including the suspect's mobile phone, clothes, and CCTV footage, have been seized and will be examined by various departments of the forensic science laboratory, based in Kalina, Mumbai.
A police officer mentioned that departments like Tape Authentication and Speaker Identification (TASI), Biology, DNA, Footprints, Physics, and Cyber analysis of the forensic science laboratory will participate in evaluating the evidence thoroughly. Investigators are facing communication barriers with the suspect, who converses in Hindi with a Bangladeshi accent during interrogations.
