In the balmy sunshine of spring, poems steeped in love turned the city into a haven of romance. From new-age metaphors to social media's favorite verses, and couplets in Avadhi language, the audience was enthralled. During Sunday's 'This Love Isn't Easy' session, young poets once again captured the hearts of literature aficionados. They not only read poems but tickled the audience with tales from their personal lives and stage experiences.
Declaring himself a poet of broken hearts, poet Badal Sharma began the gathering with a poem for his wife, 'Annie, there's none like you.' He shared the emotions from his crush days, penned into verses.
She came, weary from a night of wakefulness, With wet hair, hurried after a bath, I, too, rushed that day, clad in haste, Having donned nothing much, with no breakfast to taste
He then recited lines touching on the emotions of first love, 'Even if she blocks me, I know her number by heart... it's the month of her birthday, December is clear to me,' sparking applause.
His poem, akin to many youthful hearts' plea, resonated deeply with the audience.
I professed I'd cherish you with my life, Now it's you hurling words like bullets, We argue, fearing tears may flow, Now who debates with the insincere?

Mohit's lines 'Don't ask what I gained from my mates, I found partners in pain... those unworthy are barred from my heart, Look how I've created my own guard' resonated well with the audience, touching young hearts intimately.
Impossible that I won't see goodness around, Nor would I ignore your truth, sound, Should you come near, I'd sink into your heart, If you drift away, your shadow I shall not part
Mohit's poems conveyed struggle, friendship, and goodness vividly. He shared how Sahitya Aajtak gave him the confidence to express himself on the platform.
