In UP’s Saharanpur, businessman Saurabh Babbar, troubled by creditors, took a drastic step by jumping into the Ganges river in Haridwar with his wife Mona. Saurabh passed away while the search for Mona's body continues. When Saurabh's body arrived home on the evening of August 12, the atmosphere was filled with grief. His 7-year-old disabled son performed the last rites, and there wasn't a dry eye among those present.
left behind two children, an 11-year-old daughter and a 7-year-old son. Despite his disability, the son bravely performed his father Saurabh Babbar's final rites. Many locals gathered with tear-filled eyes to bid farewell to the businessman.

to offer their condolences. Former MP and BJP leader Raghav Lakhanpal visited the family to provide comfort. On 'X', he expressed his sorrow, stating, ”The tragic news has shaken everyone. Saurabh, along with his wife, ended their lives by jumping into the Ganges. Watching his son perform the last rites left everyone in tears. May the Almighty give strength to these children.”

Congress MP Imran Masood also visited the grieving family's home to express his condolences. On 'X', he shared, “Hearing about the suicide of Saharanpur jeweler Saurabh Babbar and his wife has deeply saddened me. This is a tragic event. Difficulties in life are inevitable, but suicide is not the solution. Facing and overcoming problems requires courage and strength. Business has its ups and downs, but we should never give up. Instead of ending our lives, we should seek solutions to our issues with support from family, friends, and society. We must be ready to face life's challenges without giving up.”
Imran Masood assured justice to the grieving family and demanded stringent action in this matter. Present at the occasion were MLA Shahnawaz Khan, City President Varun Sharma, Qazi Farhan, Azmat Ali, and Israr Pramukh among others.
