Besides attending the ceremony, the Foreign Minister will converse with representatives of the new U.S. administration and other international dignitaries present on this occasion in Washington, D.C. Donald Trump's inauguration ceremony is set to begin at 12 PM (10:30 PM Indian Standard Time) on January 20.
The inauguration of the newly elected President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance is anticipated to mark a new era in U.S. domestic and foreign policy. As a major ally, India will closely monitor the administration's stance on issues such as H1-B visa reforms, supply chain resilience, and the Indo-Pacific region.
Expected Guests at the Ceremony
The Trump inauguration ceremony is expected to host several foreign guests, including Argentinian President Javier Milei, Nigel Farage, leader of the UK's right-leaning Reform UK party, Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and a leader from a right-wing French political party.
Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro was invited to attend Trump's inauguration. However, passport issues may prevent him from attending the event.
Chinese President Xi Jinping was invited by Trump to attend the inauguration, although a high-level envoy might be sent instead.
