The administration has taken significant action in response to the tragic accident in Noida that resulted in the death of a software engineer. CEO M. Lokesh of the Noida Authority has been removed following this unfortunate event.
Yuvraj Mehta, who was a software engineer residing at Tata Eureka Park in Gurugram, tragically lost his life when his car fell into a water-filled pit excavated for the basement of an under-construction building near Sector 150, Noida. He was returning home from work on a Friday night when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle, which subsequently plunged into an unbarricaded pit.
SIT Formed for Investigation
According to police reports, they received information about the incident around 12:15 AM. However, it was only after an extensive rescue operation through the night that the body was finally retrieved on Saturday morning by the collaborative efforts of the Fire Department, local police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
An eyewitness, a delivery agent named Mohinder, alleged that there was a delay in the rescue operation. He also claimed that timely action could have potentially saved the engineer. He mentioned that the rescue teams hesitated to enter the water-filled pit due to the cold and exposed iron rods.
'Lack of Safety Measures at Site'
Following a complaint by Mehta's father, police registered an FIR at Knowledge Park Police Station against MJ Wishtown Planner Limited and Lotus Green Construction Private Limited on Sunday. The family accused the developers of failing to implement basic safety measures such as barricades and reflectors in the accident-prone area, despite repeated warnings from residents.
