An old story...Greek warriors built the Trojan Horse to sneak into the city of Troy and win the war.
Back then, deception was carried out using a wooden horse. Now, Russia is trying to trick with a wooden submarine. Recent satellite images have revealed this. Russia built an exact wooden replica of one of its submarines. This replica was placed in the Black Sea Fleet at the Sevastopol port.

This fleet is stationed in Sevastopol. It’s unclear whom Russia was attempting to deceive, but satellite technology has foiled their plan. The wooden submarine is about 56 meters long, a replica of Russia’s Rostov-On-Don submarine, which was sunk by a Ukrainian attack.
Russia didn’t want the world to know that its submarine was destroyed. So, they created a wooden replica and stationed it with the fleet. However, this replica was slightly shorter. While the original Rostov-On-Don is 73.8 meters long, this discrepancy exposed Russia's deception.

Repair Work Underway on the Damaged Submarine
When analyzed, the satellite images of the wooden submarine revealed it wasn't even as large as the Project 877 Alrosa submarine, let alone the length of the Rostov. The Alrosa is 72.6 meters long. According to sources, Russia sent the damaged submarine to the 13th Ship Repair Plant in Kilen Bay, where it is being repaired under cover.
The Submarine Was Severely Damaged by Ukrainian Missile Strikes
Last September, Ukraine launched missile attacks on Sevastopol. The submarine was severely damaged in these attacks and sank. Later, the Russian government retrieved the submarine from beneath the port. Initially, it was sent to a dry dock to dry out. Subsequently, in June, it was moved to Kilen Bay for proper repairs. It is expected to return to service next year.
