The air of uncertainty over the Moradabad seat in Uttar Pradesh has cleared. Ruchi Veera, an ally of Azam Khan, will now be the face of contention. The Socialist Party initially backed ST Hasan, who had also filed his nomination. However, due to internal strife, he's forced to take a step back and announced his withdrawal from the candidacy.
In an exclusive conversation with the press, ST Hasan stated that he will no longer be the party's candidate. It's speculated that Azam Khan's stern opposition led SP to revise its decision. "Once a ticket is granted, there must be a substantial reason for its withdrawal," argued Hasan, hinting that only Akhilesh Yadav can clarify the reasons behind the revoked ticket. According to him, Yadav has the ultimate say in the party, with the prerogative to nominate or withdraw candidacy at will.

ST Hasan expressed, "Ticket or no ticket cannot diminish the stature of ST Hasan - we are committed to the ideology that was once Mulayam Singh's, and now Akhilesh Yadav's." He stated, "I come from the Muslim community, which, in the 70-year history of India, has never been more aggrieved. Akhilesh was the one who sent me to the parliament. Naturally, I will always champion the cause of justice."
Following a recent meeting between Azam Khan and Akhilesh Yadav at the Sitapur Jail, SP wielded the metaphorical scissors on Hasan's candidacy. Khan had reportedly wished for Yadav to contest from Rampur, which allegedly wasn't agreed upon. This led to protests and threats of election boycott from Khan's supporters in Rampur, affecting the dynamics in Moradabad as well.
