Once again, Jawaharlal Nehru University, located in the heart of India's capital, finds itself embroiled in controversy. Students of the university marked the sixth anniversary of the January 5th, 2020 attack on campus with protests. Outside Sabarmati Hostel, students from leftist student organizations raised slogans, stirring a dispute. NUSU and SFI label these slogans as ideological objections, while ABVP frames them as driven by an 'anti-Hindu mindset'.

This issue hasn't remained confined to the university; it now appears to be becoming a part of national politics.

Delhi government minister Kapil Mishra and UP government minister Dayashankar Mishra have questioned the students responsible for the slogans. Following this, Congress leaders have also issued statements.

'Political Gains for BJP...'

Congress leader Rashid Alvi remarked, "No one can support such slogans, but Delhi Police was already aware of impending trouble at JNU. Why was Delhi Police silent? Why was Amit Shah silent?"

He further questioned whether the police have arrested anyone responsible for the slogans yet. Alvi suggested, "Isn't it possible that you (BJP) orchestrated the slogans yourselves for political benefits?"

Rashid Alvi also added, "It is said that the Pakistani flag was raised. Such news has been circulating for the past 11 years. Why didn't such news emerge before then? They operate like Hitler, sending their own to conduct such acts. It's done for the political advantage of RSS and BJP."

'Hissing Foes...'

Delhi government minister and BJP leader Kapil Mishra said, "As snakes are being smashed, their offspring are writhing. Those chanting unpleasant slogans in support of Naxalites, terrorists, and rioters at JNU are frustrated because Naxals are being eliminated, terrorists tackled, and rioters recognized by the courts."

Additionally, Uttar Pradesh government minister Dayashankar Singh commented on the alleged slogan-sloganeering, "These individuals study at JNU with Indian funds but harbor foreign mindsets. The nation must be wary of such people."
