The Gwalior police in Madhya Pradesh achieved a significant breakthrough when a liquor smuggler they apprehended turned out to also be a rape suspect. The suspect, already wanted in a case registered at the women's police station, had been on the run for a long time and engaged in illegal liquor activities.

In the case unfolding in the Bijauli police station area of Duhia village, trainee IPS and station in-charge Anu Beniwal reported the illegal liquor sales incident. When police reached the scene, they discovered that the suspect, Harendra Gurjar, was also implicated in a rape case.

According to the IPS officer, the women's police station had been searching for the suspect in a rape case for quite some time. Initially, Harendra tried to mislead the police, but later he confessed his identity from Kamera village in Morena district and his fugitive status regarding the rape charges. The police have also begun to gather information about other cases filed against Harendra Gurjar.

Additional SP Niranjan Sharma reported that upon receiving information, station in-charge of Bijauli, Anu Beniwal, conducted a raid in Duhia village. During this operation, bootlegger Harendra Gurjar was apprehended. Authorities recovered 50 bottles of liquor from his possession.

Upon interrogation of the accused, it came to light that a case under section 376 was already registered against him at the Padav women's police station in Gwalior and that he was absconding. The women's police station has now been informed about the arrest as well.
