A Bihar court has delivered its verdict on the arms act case against the formidable MLA, Anant Singh, sentencing the opposition RJD's strongman to ten years of imprisonment in the AK-47 case.

Bihar’s ‘Little Government’, RJD’s Anant Singh from Mokama, was convicted by the MP-MLA court on June 14th. The court has now also pronounced the sentence against Anant Singh. Special Judge Triloki Dubey handed down the 10-year jail term.

With the court’s ruling of a decade's punishment, Anant Singh’s legislative assembly membership is anticipated to be forfeited. It's notable that the case stems from 2019, stemming from information about arms smuggling that led to a police raid at Anant Singh’s residence in Ladma village, Mokama.

During this marathon raid that lasted nearly 11 hours under the leadership of then ASP of Barh, Lipi Singh, police discovered an AK-47 with 26 rounds, a magazine, and hand grenades from Singh’s home. Following the raid, Anant Singh went into hiding while releasing a series of videos on social media, managing to evade the police and causing public embarrassment for them.

After a three-day game of cat and mouse with the Bihar police, Anant Singh finally surrendered at Delhi’s Saket court on August 24th, 2019. Following his surrender, ASP Lipi Singh, who led the raid on his home, also went to Delhi. Singh was then brought to Barh with tight security and presented before the court.
