The construction of this bridge, stretching from Gajraula to the village of Veerampur over the Ganga river with a budget of 83 crore, was underway. However, late on Friday night, three beams of the bridge gave way, and one of those beams fell down, causing it to be completely destroyed, whereas another has been left skewed.

'Beams may have fallen due to storm'

DM C.P. Singh provided information on the matter, stating that the bridge was being constructed under the supervision of the Bridge Corporation and PWD. The beams may have fallen due to a storm, he suggested. The construction company is currently focused on rectifying the fallen beams. DM also rebuffed accusations of substandard construction work.

Targeting from Akhilesh

Former Chief Minister of UP and the head of the Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh Yadav, has pointed fingers at the Yogi government. On social media, he questioned, 'The public is asking how much did the contractor, whose bridge over the Ganga river in Bulandshahr collapsed during its construction, contribute to the 'electoral donations' in exchange for the contract? By compromising the quality of work, the BJP is playing with people's lives.'
