Among the 52 Brahmin legislators in the UP Assembly, 46 are from BJP, yet after the recent Etawah Kathavachak scandal, there is societal unrest. Meanwhile, SP General Secretary Shivpal Yadav accused BJP of caste segregation, extending an offer to Brahmin legislators to join Samajwadi Party.

Monsoon session saw Thakur legislators come together in a 'family' meet, prompting Brahmin legislators to raise their collective voice. Noteworthily, this dinner saw participation not just from BJP but also from Brahmin figures of other parties.
Shivpal’s Offer and Rajbhar’s Sarcastic Remark
SP Leader Shivpal Singh Yadav criticized BJP, alleging that their politics is built on caste division. He urged dissatisfied Brahmin legislators lacking respect in BJP to join Samajwadi Party. On the other hand, Cabinet Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar remarked that the nation has shifted from 'agricultural' to 'caste-centric.' Rajbhar also questioned the rights granted to Brahmins in SP’s governance.
