India's star wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has once again achieved a historic milestone. In the 2025 Headingley Test against England, Pant scored centuries in both innings, marking his name in the annals of Indian cricket history. In the first innings, Pant showcased a brilliant innings of 134 runs, and followed it up with an impressive 118 in the second innings.

With this achievement, Pant becomes the seventh Indian batsman to score a century in both innings of a Test match. Before him, this feat was achieved by cricket legends like Vijay Hazare, Sunil Gavaskar (3 times), Rahul Dravid (twice), Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, and Rohit Sharma. However, Pant added a distinctive record to this list. He is the first Indian batsman to score centuries in both innings of a Test in England.

The World’s Second Wicketkeeper to Achieve This Feat

Furthermore, Pant has become only the second designated wicketkeeper in the world to score centuries in both innings of a Test. This record was previously held by Andy Flower of Zimbabwe, who scored 142 and an unbeaten 199 against South Africa in 2001.

Pant's innings was crucial not only for keeping India in the game but also proved to be a significant milestone in his career. Demonstrating a perfect blend of patience and aggression during a challenging phase for the team, he reinforced his status as one of India's most reliable players in Test cricket.
