Renowned electric two-wheeler manufacturer, Revolt Motors, has officially launched its first electric bike, the Revolt RV1, in the commuter segment. This bike is available in two variants. The base variant starts at an ex-showroom price of 84,990 Rupees.
Motorcycles constitute 70% of all two-wheelers sold in India, and over 8 million commuter segment bikes are sold annually. With the RV1, Revolt Motors has entered a significant market segment. It's the most affordable bike in the company's portfolio, and official bookings have begun. Customers can book it for just 499 Rupees on the company's official website and authorized dealerships.
Variants and Pricing:
The RV1 is available in four colors, along with its premium variant, RV1+. The starting price for RV1 is 84,990 Rupees, and for RV1+, it’s 99,990 Rupees. Both variants are based on the RV series with minor differences in looks and design. However, there is a significant difference in their battery packs and range.
Look and Design:
The design of this bike closely resembles the company's previous RV300 model. It features a round-shaped LED headlight. Additionally, LED indicators and a license plate light have been used. Features like wide tires, dual-disc brakes, portable waterproof battery, LCD display, and reverse mode enhance the bike's appeal.
Battery Pack and Driving Range:
The base model, RV1, comes with a 2.2 kW battery pack, while the RV1+ is equipped with a 3.24 kW battery pack. The smaller battery offers a range of 100 km on a single charge, and the larger one provides a 160 km range. The company claims that the bike is built on a robust frame capable of carrying a maximum weight of 250 kg.
Charging and Top Speed:
Both bikes have a top speed of 70 km/h. However, the RV1's battery takes about 2.15 hours to charge from 0 to 80 percent, while the RV1+ battery takes 3.30 hours to reach 80 percent. The RV1 weighs 108 kg and the RV1 Plus weighs 110 kg. Both bikes feature a 240 mm disc brake.
Suspension:
The Revolt RV series includes telescopic fork suspension at the front and monoshock suspension at the rear. The seat height is 790 mm, making it suitable for an average-height person. It has a 1350 mm wheelbase, and the long single-piece seat can comfortably accommodate two people.
Warranty:
Revolt Motors provides a 5-year or 75,000 km warranty on this bike. Additionally, there is a 2-year warranty on the charger. You can charge the bike's battery using a regular household socket.
