The Republic Day event on Sunday witnessed a splendid celebration at Kartavya Path, New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi maintained his tradition of wearing vibrant, multi-colored turbans. For the 76th Republic Day celebration, PM Modi wore a striking red and yellow turban.
Prime Minister Modi's attire first appeared as he paid homage at the National War Memorial, honoring the brave souls who laid down their lives for the nation. After this homage, PM Modi arrived at Kartavya Path for the annual Republic Day parade.
Since 2014, PM Modi’s colorful turbans have captured attention on numerous occasions. His turbans become a special topic of discussion on Independence Day and Republic Day. For the 2024 Republic Day program, the Prime Minister wore a 'bandhani' turban, showcasing India’s diversity.

PM Modi Extends Greetings to the Nation
On Republic Day, PM Modi wrote in a post, 'Today, we celebrate the 75th anniversary of our great Republic. On this occasion, we pay tribute to the great personalities who crafted our Constitution and ensured that our development journey is based on democracy, dignity, and unity. We hope that this national festivity continues to uphold the values of our Constitution and further our efforts in building a strong and prosperous India.'
President Droupadi Murmu, accompanied by the Indonesian President, arrived at Kartavya Path for the state ceremony and hoisted the national flag before the parade commenced. This year, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto graced the Republic Day celebration as the chief guest.
