The Prime Minister's Free Electricity Scheme registration (PM Free Electricity Scheme Registration) is now underway. Under the PM Surya Ghar Scheme, beneficiaries will be provided with up to 300 units of free electricity. This initiative will see solar panels installed on home rooftops. The central government will invest INR 75,000 crores in the Free Electricity Scheme and will also provide subsidies to beneficiaries.

How to Register Offline?
India Post has advocated for this scheme, suggesting that people can register through the post office. Information on the subsidies is also available. Registration has already commenced in the Karnataka Postal Circle. People can register for the scheme at their nearest post office or through Gramin Dak Sevaks.
Register Online
If you prefer to apply online, visit the official website https://pmsuryaghar.gov.in. Here, step-by-step instructions are provided on how to register online.
First, go to the official website https://pmsuryaghar.gov.in and select Apply for Rooftop Solar.
Then choose your state and your electricity distribution company's name. Next, enter your electricity consumer number, mobile number, and email.
Login on the new page using your consumer number and mobile phone.
Once the form opens, follow the given directives to apply for a rooftop solar panel.
Upon completing this process, you will receive feasibility approval, after which you can get the plant installed by any registered vendor with your DISCOM.
How Much Subsidy Will Be Provided?
You must have your last six months' electricity bills to apply for this scheme. The central government has announced in the budget that under the new solar rooftop scheme, consumers can receive a subsidy of up to INR 30,000 per kilowatt for connections up to three kilowatts and INR 18,000 per kilowatt for connections above three kilowatts.
