Delhi is experiencing a scorching weekend, with temperatures climbing above 40°C. The nights and early mornings provide little relief from the heatwave. On Sunday, the minimum nighttime temperature hit 27.2°C, the highest for April in six years and three degrees above normal.
April Heat Shatters Six-Year Record
IMD data reveals that since April 25, 2019, this is the highest nighttime temperature recorded in Delhi, matching the 28°C mark. Meanwhile, Saturday saw daytime temperatures exceed 42°C, marking the season's peak temperature and the highest for April in three years. Although there was a slight decrease on Sunday, the maximum temperature remained 2.3 degrees above the normal at 41.3°C.

Unyielding Heat Today, Rain to Bring Respite!
The weather department predicts partly cloudy skies for today, Monday, with maximum and minimum temperatures expected at 41°C and 26°C, respectively. However, some relief is anticipated with a forecast of storms and rain on the following day. By April 29, Delhi might see rain, possibly lowering the temperatures. According to IMD, Tuesday's temperatures could range between a minimum of 25°C and a maximum of 39°C.
