The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken decisive action in the Bangalore Rameshwaram Cafe blast case. An additional suspect has been detained for interrogation. Meanwhile, the Congress has alleged that the NIA detainee has connections to the BJP. The accused was taken in for questioning by the NIA. Last week, the investigative agency had conducted raids in Shivamogga, targeting a mobile phone shop and the homes of two suspects. The accused was named by employees at the mobile shop.

Congress leader Dinesh Gundu Rao has questioned the BJP's involvement on a social media post, asking what BJP supporters in the state would say now that a suspect from Teerthahalli has been detained by the NIA in the Rameshwaram Cafe blast case. He asserted that the accused is a BJP worker linked to the blast and demanded the BJP's response, given their RSS ideology being propagated nationwide.

The NIA has stated that since the case involves a terrorist incident, disclosing the identities of the witnesses could hamper the investigation. They cautioned against unverified reports that could obstruct effective investigation and requested everyone's cooperation in apprehending the fugitives.

The NIA recently arrested a key plotter in the Rameshwaram Cafe blast case. Teams from the NIA had conducted operations at 18 locations, including 12 in Karnataka, 5 in Tamil Nadu, and 1 in Uttar Pradesh. During these operations, co-conspirator Mujammil Sharif was detained. Initially, the main suspect, Musavir Shajib Hussein, who executed the explosion, was identified by the agency, along with another plotter, Abdul Matheen Taha, who is also wanted in other cases. Both individuals are currently absconding.

An explosion at the Rameshwaram Cafe in Bangalore occurred on March 1st, injuring nine people. Police sources indicated that an IED bomb triggered by a timer had been used in the blast. Following the blast, the cafe was reopened grandly during the Mahashivratri celebration. According to administration officials, metal detectors have been installed at the cafe's entrance to screen customers, and each will be checked with handheld detectors before being allowed entry. There will be strict surveillance on all customers, and employees will monitor any suspicious activities.
