The previous day in the Rajya Sabha witnessed a deadlock over the Karnataka Muslim reservation, stalling proceedings. However, Tuesday painted a completely different picture, with the session commencing in a congenial atmosphere and lighter moments gracing the assembly. At one point, Central Minister Prahlad Joshi humorously noted, 'Outside, we are the same.' Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar quipped in response, 'Does that mean this is a drama here? Make friends here too.'
During the question hour, Minister Prahlad Joshi was responding to queries related to the Ministry of Food and Public Distribution. The issue of millions of impoverished people missing out on free ration due to the lack of a 2021 census was raised. Minister Joshi addressed the query by emphasizing the state's responsibility to deliver benefits to each beneficiary. He pointed out that Jairam Ramesh, from Karnataka, hadn't facilitated it there, inventively suggesting that since Congress led the state, they should manage it there. Kharge Ji felt compelled to stand, pointing out the absence of ration distribution deprives millions of impoverished, marginalized citizens due to the missing 2021 census. He prompted a response by stating, 'Your government is in Karnataka; make it happen there.' The Chairman wittily added, 'You hail from Karnataka too,' to which Kharge hilariously replied that he avoided mentioning Karnataka because of the Chairman's position.

Smiling, Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar lightly joked that his health concerns being deleted would be a favorable outcome. Jairam Ramesh cleverly gestured towards Kharge for endorsement, while Kharge in jest remarked that Minister Joshi is from Karnataka as well, questioning his interest and suggesting a review. On Joshi's playful rebuttal implying the unity they share outside, Minister Joshi noted, 'Kharge Ji and I, we are the same outside.' The Chairman continued the playful banter with, 'So, is it a spectacle here? Make friends outside then!' Joshi retorted, 'Friendships thrive outside; here, responsibilities prevail ardently.'“
