On March 5, 2025, Pragati tied the knot with Dilip, a local entrepreneur. Yet, her heart lay elsewhere, with her paramour, Anurag, with whom she shared a romantic bond for four years. Unwilling to give up on her love, she concocted a dangerous plan to eliminate her husband for good.
15 Days into Marriage, Husband Murdered
Dilip, a 24-year-old businessman, married Aurraiya's Pragati but was fatally shot a mere fortnight after the nuptials. While hospitalized, he succumbed to his injuries. The probing authorities unveiled startling revelations last Monday, identifying his wife in cahoots with her lover in orchestrating the plot.
Pragati utilized monetary gifts acquired during the wedding ceremonies to remunerate contract killers, handing over two lakh rupees. Initially, she gave Anurag the funds, who later transferred it to the hitmen. The police have now taken into custody the accused spouse, her lover Anurag, and an assassin.
Injured Dilip Discovered in Fields
Near the village of Palia in Aurraiya's Sahar police precinct, an incapacitated young man lay amidst wheat fields after sustaining gunshot wounds. Villagers quickly alerted the police, who rushed him to a local hospital before transferring him to a higher medical center due to critical health conditions. Tragically, Dilip couldn’t survive the treatment and passed away.

A Deadly Deal Sealed at Two Lakh Rupees
Pragati handed one lakh to Anurag for her husband's assassination, upon which he engaged his associate, Ramji Nagar, to finalize a 2-lakh deal. On March 19, as Dilip returned from Kannauj, they intercepted him at a local hotel, lured him onto the bike, and coldly executed him in a desolate location.
Arrests Made, Weapons Seized
Currently, both Ramji Nagar and Anurag are under arrest, with law enforcement recovering 315 bore pistols and live ammunition. Following in-depth interrogation, Pragati was also arrested, while further investigations are underway to collar additional culprits involved.
Police Statement
On March 19, they received information regarding an injured man found sprawled in a field. He was admitted to Bidhuna’s community health center, notifying his family. Subsequent transfers ensued from Saifai hospital to Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, finally reaching Agra. Despite relentless medical attempts, his condition deteriorated, culminating in his demise on March 21.
The police, leveraging CCTV evidence, apprehended 22-year-old Pragati, her lover Anurag a.k.a Manoj, and hitman Ramji Nagar. Superintendent Abhijit R Shankar confirmed their conspiracy, implicating a 2-lakh assassination order from Pragati and Anurag against Dilip.
