Voting for 88 seats across 13 states in the penultimate phase of the Lok Sabha elections is underway today, with 13 critical seats in Rajasthan being closely watched. While the BJP is going solo on these seats, Congress has fielded candidates on 12, and one seat in Dungarpur-Banswara has seen support for the BAP candidate Rajkumar Roat. It's reported that BJP holds a firm grasp over seven seats, whereas Congress is giving a tough fight on five, with one seat witnessing a triangular contest.
Today, the voting is taking place in Tonk-Sawai Madhopur, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Pali, Barmer-Jaisalmer, Jalore-Sirohi, Udaipur, Banswara, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, Bhilwara, Kota-Bundi, and Jhalawar-Baran. Political analysts suggest that the BJP appears strong in Chittorgarh, Bhilwara, Rajsamand, Udaipur, Jhalawar, Pali, and Ajmer thanks to their sweeping victory in the 2019 elections.
