Rajasthan Intelligence has uncovered a significant espionage case in Alwar. Local resident Mangat Singh was arrested for spying for Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI. Mangat Singh had been in contact with two Pakistani numbers for the past two years. Via social media, he maintained contact with Pakistani handlers and transmitted sensitive military information from Alwar. In return, he received substantial sums from Pakistan.
Investigations revealed that one of Mangat Singh's numbers was linked to a honey trap, while the other belonged to Pakistan. Caught in this trap, he connected with a female Pakistani handler and continued sharing military-related information. Investigation officials remarked that the accused stayed in contact with the handler, who used the alias Isha Sharma, before and after Operation Sindoor. Driven by monetary gain and attractive offers, Mangat Singh engaged in these activities.
On October 10, Mangat Singh was arrested at the Special Police Station in Jaipur. Post-arrest, he was taken to the Central Interrogation Center in Jaipur, where a joint team of various intelligence agencies made significant revelations after examining technical and mobile data. The investigation discovered that Mangat Singh consistently sent information about Alwar and other sensitive military zones to Pakistan.
Rajesh Meel, DIG of Intelligence, stated that Mangat Singh had long-term contact with two ISI numbers, through which he continuously dispatched military-related information to Pakistan. In return, he received hefty payments from Pakistan. During interrogation, the accused disclosed several critical details, which are still under investigation.
It was also revealed that Mangat Singh leaked confidential details of the Alwar army headquarters and other military locations to the ISI. Furthermore, the honey trap angle emerged. Rajasthan Intelligence is diligently getting to the root of this matter, with ongoing interrogations of the accused.
As Alwar is a strategic and sensitive region of the National Capital Region, Rajasthan Intelligence has maintained vigilance over all strategically vital areas in the state since Operation Sindoor. During surveillance of suspicious activities in Alwar, Mangat Singh's activities were deemed suspicious, leading to his tracking and arrest. A thorough investigation into the accused continues.
