The Entire Incident Explained

On Wednesday, during voting on seven assembly seats in Rajasthan, an incident at the Deval Uniyara seat attracted attention when a candidate slapped the SDM. Naresh Meena, running as an independent after rebelling against Congress, became embroiled in controversy for striking SDM Amit Chauthari during the elections.

Note that voting took place on November 13 for Rajasthan's seven assembly seats, including Jhunjhunu, Dausa, Devli-Uniyara, Khinwsar, Chaurasi, Salumber, and Ramgarh with results on November 23. Of these assembly seats, four belonged to Congress and one each to BJP and BAP RLP before by-elections became necessary due to the deaths of two incumbent MLAs, Congress's Zubair Khan (Ramgarh) and BJP's Amritlal Meena (Salumber).
