Captured After 14 Years: Railway Job Scam Culprit

An accused from Bihar's Siwan, who tricked people in Uttarakhand with false railway job promises, was arrested after 14 years. He evaded capture by frequently changing locales and contact numbers.

The police in Uttarakhand's capital, Dehradun, have finally apprehended a conman involved in defrauding individuals by falsely promising them railway jobs, a staggering 14 years later.

SSP (STF) Navneet Bhullar announced on Thursday that their Special Task Force apprehended Aksheshwar Tiwari on Wednesday from the Chainpur area of Siwan district, Bihar.

According to the news agency, Aksheshwar Tiwari is a seasoned fraudster who swindled several individuals out of substantial sums in 2010 by promising them railway employment. A case against him had been filed at the Rudrapur Kotwali police station in Udham Singh Nagar district.

Fraudster Nabbed After 14 Years

The state police's CBCID conducted the investigation. SSP Bhullar mentioned that the Rudrapur court had issued a standing warrant for his arrest, and on February 2, 2023, a reward of 25,000 rupees was declared for information leading to his capture.

The accused had been hiding in various locations across Bihar and Punjab, constantly changing positions and mobile numbers. Recently, his location was pinpointed to Siwan, leading to his arrest. Bhullar stated that Tiwari is currently on transit remand to Kotwali Rudrapur.
