Announcement of candidacy was made in the morning and by afternoon, Rahul Gandhi filed his nomination from the Raebareli seat, marking a politically charged Thursday. Speculations were rife since morning that the nominations for the candidates of Amethi and Raebareli would be declared on the last day. Following some anticipation, Congress released the list of candidates for both seats.
While Rahul Gandhi was fielded from Raebareli, KL Sharma was granted the ticket from Amethi. Upon the declaration of candidacy, KL Sharma was the first to register his nomination. Before the nomination, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi arrived in Amethi, accompanied by Ashok Gehlot. From there, she proceeded to Raebareli, where, alongside Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge were also present.
The convoy reached the Congress office before the nomination
In Raebareli, Rahul Gandhi led a roadshow, which saw participation from both Congress supporters and allies from the Samajwadi Party. The roadshow journeyed through various regions before reaching the Congress headquarters. After a short pause there, Rahul Gandhi, along with the entire convoy, headed to file his nomination.

Before the Amethi roadshow, Rahul Gandhi arrived at the Fursatganj airport. Local party workers gathered at the Collectorate in large numbers, where Rahul Gandhi submitted his candidature. Prior to Rahul Gandhi's nomination, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot reached the guest house in Raebareli. It's noteworthy that the Raebareli Lok Sabha seat will go to polls on May 20th.
KL Sharma expresses joy over ticket
Along with Rahul Gandhi, today's spotlight was also on KL Sharma, as Congress announced his candidature opposing BJP's Smriti Irani in Amethi. After the revelation, KL Sharma expressed his delight and extended thanks to Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge. Following this, KL Sharma headed to Amethi to file his nomination at the Collectorate.
