Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a three-day visit to the United States starting August 21. This visit is considered quite significant as PM Modi will meet with President Biden, attend the Quad Summit, and address the Indian community. On the final day of his visit, he will also participate in a United Nations summit. Interestingly, former President Donald Trump has expressed his desire to meet PM Modi during his US visit. The Foreign Ministry has issued a statement regarding this potential meeting.

Former US President Donald Trump, while addressing a campaign rally in Michigan, referred to Narendra Modi as a spectacular individual. He mentioned that Modi will be visiting the USA next week, and he plans to meet him. The Indian Foreign Ministry responded by stating that PM Modi has a packed schedule, and they are trying to accommodate the meeting within his limited time. However, no confirmation can be made at this moment.

It should be noted that PM Modi's US visit will span from September 21 to 23. During this period, he will participate in several major events, including the Quad Leaders Summit. The visit will kick off on September 21 with the fourth Quad Leaders Summit in Wilmington, Delaware. Then, on September 22, PM Modi will engage with the Indian community in New Jersey. On his final day, September 23, he will attend the 'Summit of the Future' at the United Nations.

Quad Meeting to be Held in Biden’s Hometown

The Quad organization meeting is set for September 21 in President Biden’s hometown, Delaware. This meeting was initially planned to take place in January 2024 in India but was postponed to September for unspecified reasons. India will host the Quad organization in 2025.

Beyond the Quad Summit, PM Modi will also hold bilateral meetings with President Biden and leaders from Japan and Australia. Furthermore, he will meet with CEOs of major companies to discuss advancements in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and biotechnology.

The Quad Summit is a coalition of four countries: India, the USA, Australia, and Japan. Established in 2007 and reactivated in 2017, the organization's objective is to counter China's growing influence in the Indo-Pacific region.

Reports indicate that over 24,000 members of the Indian community are expected to attend PM Modi’s mega event in New Jersey on September 22. The event, dubbed 'Modi and US Progress Together,' will see participation from Indian-origin individuals across 42 of the 50 US states. PM Modi previously addressed a similar event, 'Howdy Modi,' in Texas in 2019, which was also attended by former President Trump.

It’s noteworthy that PM Modi’s US visit comes at a crucial time, with the American presidential elections approaching and the campaign season in full swing.
