In Punjab, while unraveling the murder mystery of Anil Kumar, a cab driver residing in Mohali, the police exposed a perilous terror module connected to Jaish-e-Mohammed. Three individuals have been apprehended from Jammu & Kashmir in this case, identified as Sahil Bashir, his brother Aijaz Ahmed alias Wasim, and Munish Singh alias Ansh. The three accused are reported to be overground workers linked to the terror organization.
Punjab's DGP Gaurav Yadav disclosed that Sahil Bashir was already wanted under the UAPA and Arms Act. His brother, Aijaz Ahmed, was caught with an arsenal of weapons. Both were operating at the grassroots level for Jaish-e-Mohammed, with their network sprawling across Punjab. During interrogation, the accused confessed to shooting the driver following a dispute.
On August 28, cab driver Anil Kumar went missing. On the same day, the three suspects rented his cab from Kharar. Afterward, the driver's mobile suddenly turned off, and his vehicle was also found missing. As police launched the investigation, the case appeared to be direct abduction and murder. With various teams pressing forward, the police soon took all three suspects into custody.
Police recovered a .32 bore pistol and the hijacked vehicle from the crime scene. A search operation continues to locate the driver's body. DGP took to X (Twitter) to declare this a monumental success for Punjab Police. During the probe of one incident, a significant terror module was unmasked. He asserted that any anti-national activities on Punjab soil will not be tolerated.
To dismantle this terror module's intricate network, many dedicated teams of Punjab Police are relentlessly working. This case once again proves that terror organizations are plotting to disrupt Punjab's peace. However, swift police action not only decoded a murder mystery but also preemptively exposed a dangerous conspiracy.
