As the murky depths of the Pune Porsche scandal come to light, authorities have apprehended two doctors, including the head of the forensic department, accused of vanishing a minor suspect's blood samples. Their alleged tampering resulted in an initial failure to confirm alcohol presence in the samples.
The minor, first taken to Sassoon Hospital at 11 am for a medical test, had his blood sample secretly swapped with someone who hadn't consumed alcohol.
The first blood report failed to confirm alcohol, casting suspicion. A subsequent report, however, confirmed its presence, revealing that on May 19, hospital doctors tampered with the sample to protect the minor.
The incident, a hit-and-run on May 19, involved a real estate developer's 17-year-old son running over two engineers with his Porsche, resulting in their deaths. The court released the accused minor on bail with conditions, including traffic police assistance and an essay on the impacts and resolutions of road accidents. However, investigations later confirmed that the accused was under the influence and driving at high speed. He is currently in a reform home.
Recently, negligence led to the suspension of two police officers connected to the incident. These officers were first on the scene but failed to inform their seniors or the control room. Both officers from the Yerwada police station were suspended by the Pune Commissioner, identified as Inspector Rahul Jagdale and API Vishwanath Todkari.
