Pune police are actively investigating the Porsche car case. On Saturday, the police arrested the accused's grandfather, Surendra Agarwal. Prior to this, the juvenile had been sent to a reformatory, and his father, as well as the club managers, had been jailed. Meanwhile, on Saturday, Pune Crime Branch searched the Agarwal mansion at Vadhawan Sheri in Brahma SunCity. This action followed a complaint by driver Gangaram, who alleged that Surendra Agarwal pressured him to take the blame for the case and held him captive in his house.
The police commissioner revealed in a press conference that on the day of the incident, the driver was pressured to confess. Initially, the driver stated he was behind the wheel, but evidence suggests otherwise. When the driver was leaving the police station at night, Surendra Agarwal confiscated his phone and kept him hostage at home, pressing him to accept the blame. Later, the driver’s family searched for him and finally found him at the Agarwal residence.

An officer explained that the driver had been living in fear from that moment. The crime branch has recorded the driver's statement, where he now says he wasn't driving. The Cyber Police Pune has registered an FIR under IPC Section 294B, IT Act 67, and IPC 509 against a person for creating Instagram reels related to the case. These videos went viral and were purported by some new channels to feature the same individual accused in the Pune Porsche crash case. However, investigations later clarified that the accused was not in the videos.

What's the case about?
The hit-and-run incident took place on May 19th in Pune's Kalyani Nagar. The teen, son of real estate developer Vishal Agarwal, mowed down two engineers with his Porsche sports car, resulting in their deaths. Fourteen hours after the incident, the juvenile was granted bail under certain conditions by the court. He was instructed to work with traffic police for 15 days and write an essay of 300 words on the impact and resolution of road accidents. However, further police investigation revealed that the suspect was intoxicated and driving at a high speed. He was subsequently taken back into custody and is currently in a juvenile reformatory home.
Demand for the incident to be treated as an adult case
In this matter, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar stated that the juvenile accused should be tried as an adult. For this, the police have requested permission from the higher courts. The commissioner's statement comes amidst public outcry over the juvenile being granted bail. The accused has been charged under IPC sections 304 (unintentional murder), 304A (causing death by negligence), and the Motor Vehicles Act.
