A fresh update has surfaced in the Pune Porsche Car Accident case. NCP legislator Sunil Tingre, a member of Ajit Pawar's leadership, was present at the Yerawada police station on the night of May 19. Opposition claims Tingre was pressuring the police. Tingre has clarified these allegations, stating at 3:21 am he received a call from his PA about a major accident, followed by calls from several associates and Vishal Agarwal.
Vishal Agarwal informed that his son was beaten up by some people. Following this, Tingre reached the police station where he was briefed by the police. He then urged the police to proceed according to the law. He also communicated with the family of the deceased.
Tingre reiterated his opposition to pubs and bars, recalling his work with Vishal Agarwal before entering politics. This is the nature of their relationship. He has assisted the family of the deceased and demanded public access to the police station's CCTV footage.
A Pune court remanded three accused - a bar owner and two restaurant managers - to police custody until May 24. The minor involved had consumed alcohol with friends at a bar, then drove out. The accused included the bar owner's son Naman Prahlad Bhutada, manager Sachin Katakar, and the manager of Black Club Hotel, Sandeep Sangle, who were presented to the court.
The police had sought seven days of custody, arguing that alcohol had been served to the underage boys without verifying their age. Police have informed that a notice was issued to the owner Prahlad Bhutada, advising him to be available for questioning if needed.
Following the incident, Pune Municipal Corporation is on alert, having demolished two illegal pubs in Koregaon Park for violation of unauthorized encroachments - Waters and Orilla. PMC states that notices will be sent to all other pubs and bars in the city.
