Stunning revelations surface daily in the Pune Porsche car case. Amidst this, retired bureaucrat Arun Bhatia has penned a letter to the Maharashtra Human Rights Commission, alleging a conspiracy to vanish evidence, witnesses, and case sequences related to the lethal Porsche car accident on May 19th. He accused Pune's Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar of negligence and demanded his immediate transfer.

Bhatia highlighted the grimly uncivilized and horrifying state of corruption and filth within the high ranks of the administration, attempting to shield the killer driver. He appealed to the MHRC for intervention, saying the incident has disturbed us, increased our insecurity, and exposed the terrifying facade of our governance and democracy. Corrupt officers and tormented citizens have become a mundane reality of daily life.

He asserted that neglect has made corruption widespread, rampant, and institutional. It's not contained to just one officer; almost the entire class has been afflicted. When officers become unified, they become invulnerable, leaving isolated citizens with no recourse.

An Accomplice Situation in Protecting a Criminal

He claimed that police officers and senior doctors, including the chief medical officer of Pune's largest government hospital, Sassoon, have colluded to safeguard a criminal.

Time Given for Defense and Conspiracy

Bhatia's letter specifies the police delayed over six hours to obtain a blood sample for alcohol testing. First, the police reportedly provided pizza to the suspect, then the doctors destroyed and altered the sample. There were delays in recording the statements of witnesses and those present in the car, among other investigative blunders.

Two politicians arrived at the police station

According to media reports, the Police Commissioner, an IPS officer, brushed it off as procedural error. Bhatia's letter mentions that despite claims of no political pressure to shield doctors, two politicians were noted at the police station.

Accountability Must Be Established...

He urged the Human Rights Commission to pay particular attention to the fact that unless senior officials are held accountable for the misconduct of their subordinates, governmental departments will not reform. It's common knowledge that subordinates collect bribe money for their higher-ups.

Bhatia insisted on an impartial investigation and immediate transfer of the Police Commissioner from Pune and called for an inquiry into his conduct, as he represents the city's police force. The chief medical officer's appointment based on a politician's recommendation should be investigated, and the Health Secretary should be held accountable.

Two lives claimed in Pune Porsche accident

Let it be known, in the early hours of May 19th, Kalyani Nagar in Pune was the site of a deadly accident that took the lives of two IT professionals. An intoxicated minor is reportedly to blame, having collided his Porsche with their two-wheeler. The 17-year-old minor has been sent to juvenile detention.
