The Maharashtra Police is taking swift action in the Pune Porsche accident case. On Wednesday, the police added another section to the case after an investigation. Alongside, the juvenile accused has been issued a new notice. He will be presented before the Juvenile Justice Board today. The father of the accused also has a court appearance scheduled today. The police assert that the severity of the crime will not go unpunished, having previously filed a petition in the sessions court and opposed bail there. However, the sessions court has directed the review petition to the Juvenile Justice Board.

The Pune Police on Wednesday revealed that IPC Section 185 has been augmented in the Kalyani Nagar accident case. The minor in question will once again be brought before the Juvenile Justice Board today. He faces a new case of driving under the influence, filed against him at the Yerwada Police Station. This comes after an earlier case was registered against him under Section 304 (non-intentional murder) for the same incident. His father has also been implicated and charged. Although the Juvenile Justice Board previously granted bail to the accused on the basis of his minor status.

The case against the accused is tightening

According to the police, initially Section 185 was not applied in the Porsche accident case, FIR number 306/24. Previously, only Section 184 (negligent driving) of the MV Act was applied. Now, Section 185 for driving under influence has been added. The Pune Police has also issued a new notice to the juvenile accused. It summons him to appear before the Juvenile Justice Board on Wednesday afternoon and to participate in the hearing of the review petition. Advocate Prashant Patil confirmed receipt of this notice.

Deputy CM and Home Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis spoke on the matter, mentioning that the police had challenged the order of the Juvenile Justice Board by submitting an application in a higher court. Though the court advised police to approach the board again for amending the order, it also stated that if the JJ Board does not review its order, the police could knock on the doors of the higher court.
