On Monday, White House Press Secretary Carolyn Levitt launched a sharp attack on a Huffington Post reporter, labeling them a 'left-wing hacker' after they inquired about President Donald Trump's upcoming meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss ending the war in Ukraine.

The debate intensified when senior political reporter S.V. D.T.E, known for critical coverage of Trump, messaged Levitt to ask who selected the location for this significant summit in Budapest.

Levitt’s response went viral, "Your mom picked it."

She later shared a screenshot of her response on social media, writing, "For context, S.V. D.T.E of Huffington Post is not a journalist interested in facts. They are a left-wing hacker who has persistently attacked President Trump and bombarded my phone with Democrat rhetoric."

She further stated, "A glance at D.T.E's feed seems like an anti-Trump personal diary. Activists pretending to be real journalists disgrace the profession."

When will Trump and Putin meet?

The White House has not confirmed the exact date or location of the prearranged Trump-Putin summit, but it is likely to happen within the next two weeks in Budapest. Their previous meeting on August 15 in Alaska ended without progress, as Putin reportedly rejected Trump's immediate ceasefire proposal.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Zelensky described his conversation as positive and announced Ukraine is preparing a contract for 25 Patriot air defense systems following his visit to Washington last week.

Zelensky stated, "After several rounds of discussions lasting over two hours with Trump and his team, I believe their message is positive—standing firm where we are."
