On the occasion of Diwali, Sadhguru shared his message, urging people to kindle their inner light. On social media platform X, Sadhguru expressed, "Dispelling darkness is the nature of light. May your inner light bloom — brightening everything you touch with its radiance. Wishing you a splendid Diwali. Love and blessings."
Elucidating the festival's significance of light, Sadhguru stated, "Only in illumination can we see better. Until we better perceive, can we progress, can we excel in anything in life?"
Sadhguru emphasized the need for enhanced vision, "We must see better. Better sight is not just with our eyes; in our mind, with clarity… if our understanding is murky, we are getting nowhere."
Scientific Reasons Behind Diwali
Discussing the scientific rationale behind the festival, Sadhguru explained that Diwali stems from understanding seasonal changes in the Northern Hemisphere. He elaborated, "These insights arise from a deep understanding that during winters, when the Earth's northern part tilts away from the sun, the cold increases, depriving us of ample sunlight... it's a time when people may feel somber, not just mentally, but even physically, inducing a form of depression."

Sadhguru continued, "Everything starts slowing down. Lighting lamps is a part of this. We can light many kinds of lamps, but using castor oil is best due to the minimal smoke it produces."
A Message for a Fearless, Greedless, and Guilt-Free Life
Highlighting the profound objectives behind Indian culture and its festivals, Sadhguru noted the intent to cultivate humans who are fearless, greed-free, and without guilt. He explained fear arises from imagining unfulfilled scenarios, but with better command over our faculties, fear dissipates.
Sadhguru added, an inclusive self frees one from guilt; inclusivity ensures our actions are right, eradicating guilt. Similarly, one becomes greedless when satisfied just being seated here, erasing the need for anything more to achieve a higher state.

He concluded, "You are fearless… guilt-free, and greedless… if such a state prevails, we've created a glorious humanity. Humanity does not mean a single or all individuals, it starts with 'self'. If this becomes magnificent, everything else becomes magnificent too." Sadhguru urged people this Diwali to ignite their inner flame.
