In Chhattisgarh's Durg district, BJP MLA Rakesh Sen, known for his distinct approach to work, took immediate action upon receiving complaints about inappropriate behavior by couples in the posh Nehru Nagar Garden. In broad daylight, he staged a surprise inspection. A video of his confrontation with the couples has been spreading wildly across social media platforms.
Rakesh Sen, upon arriving at the garden, asked couples to focus on studies and their careers. Confronted with the MLA, a young man expressed his frustration, asking where couples could go if places like OYO were shut down, causing terror at every potential private rendezvous spot. Now, he voiced plans to shift meetings to Bhilai's Maitri Garden.
A 22-year-old woman also debated with the MLA, noting that secret romantic encounters have been happening for ages. With parents at home and the MLA outside, where is space for love? MLA Rakesh Sen then disallowed love talks in the garden. The complaint that initiated this action came from residents near the garden who felt uncomfortable due to indecent public displays by the couples, spoiling the environment for others, including women out for a walk.
Garden Becoming a Hotspot for Couples
MLA Rakesh Sen also received complaints that Nehru Nagar's Garden had become a notorious spot for couples engaging in indecent activities. Upset by this revelation, Sen decided to conduct a personal investigation, finding several couples gathered in the garden during the afternoon. Though startled by the MLA's convoy, the couples did not flee, and Sen approached each one while his supporters recorded the events on their mobile phones, leaving some couples visibly perturbed.
No Room for Misconduct in Vaishali Nagar
Upon questioning the couples about their activities, they retorted by mentioning the closure of OYO rooms, where they used to meet. Angered by this, MLA Rakesh Sen sternly stated that there was no room for wrongdoing in Vaishali Nagar. He revealed that complaints had been flooding in about Nehru Nagar Garden becoming a den of unsavory behavior, prompting his on-site visit. He advised and sent the couples home. It is noted that about three months prior, MLA Rakesh Sen had shut down most of the OYO establishments in the Vaishali Nagar constituency in collaboration with the municipal corporation and the police force.
