The political climate in Uttar Pradesh is heating up with the upcoming assembly by-election. A fierce exchange of words and poster campaigns are underway among the leaders. In this exchange, Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav has once again reacted to CM Yogi Adityanath's controversial statement, 'If divided, will perish,' by remarking, 'The British left, but they left these divides behind. Indian society will not support such slogans.'
In recent speeches, CM Yogi has been invoking the phrase 'If divided, will perish' to convey a message of unity within the Hindu community. Following his remarks, BJP leaders have adorned Lucknow with various posters. In response, Samajwadi Party workers posted slogans like ‘Neither Division nor Destruction, the Tyrants Will Fall from Power…’ Previously, posters with slogans like 'PDA will unite and win' were also displayed.
Amidst this rhetoric and 'poster war,' Akhilesh Yadav has once again voiced his opinion, stating that the public will never endorse such slogans. He criticized BJP for believing in 'Divide and Rule,' claiming that though the British left, they left these divides behind. The Indian society does not align with such divisive tactics.
Whenever Divisions Occur, Calamities Follow: Yogi
Speaking at an election rally in Jharkhand, CM Yogi emphasized, 'Realize your strength, do not get divided on caste lines. Some people, like the Congress and the opposition, aim to divide you. They invite Bangladeshi infiltrators, Rohingyas. There's a day they won't let you ring bells or conch shells at home. Stay united and move forward with integrity. Throughout history, dividing has always led to misfortunes.'
CM Yogi further noted that after 2017, with the introduction of bulldozers, many criminals either ended up in jail or faced their end, reminiscent of disappearing acts akin to vanishing horns from a donkey's head. This led to a sweeping away of the mafia from Uttar Pradesh.
