In the rising heat of Rajasthan's Barmer, political fervor also swells. On the 12th of April, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address a grand election assembly supporting BJP's candidate Kailash Choudhary from the Barmer-Jaisalmer Lok Sabha constituency. A robust security array is in place by the police and administration ahead of the Prime Minister's rally, while the BJP has made arrangements to accommodate roughly a hundred thousand attendees. The BJP leadership claims that more than 100,000 people will come to hear the Prime Minister speak.

50,000 chairs arranged

Shankarsingh Rajpurohit, former MLA of Ahore and a BJP leader, while speaking with Aaj Tak, emphasized the nationwide excitement for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which is certainly mirrored in Barmer. The enthusiasm to listen to and see PM Modi is palpable among the people. Rajpurohit remarked that comprehensive arrangements have been made for attendees' movement and seating. The BJP leader claimed that 50,000 chairs have been set up, with arrangements for another 50,000 people inside. The leader asserted that over 100,000 individuals would attend the PM's rally.

Triangular contest challenges BJP with Bhati's candidature

Barmer-Jaisalmer's Lok Sabha seat is under the spotlight in anticipation of the 2024 election because here, the 26-year-old independent legislator Ravindra Singh Bhati has thrown his hat into the ring. The crowd flocking to Bhati's rallies has challenged BJP head-on. With BJP fielding Union Minister of State for Agriculture Kailash Choudhary and Congress backing Ummedaram Beniwal from RLP, the election for the Barmer-Jaisalmer Lok Sabha has turned intensely riveting and triangular.

While Congress perceives Bhati's independent run as an advantage, BJP, on the other hand, has strategized to curb his influence. The BJP intends to consolidate its traditional OBC and core voter base through PM Narendra Modi's rally, to prevent the shift of its original voter base towards Bhati. The post-rally scenario will clarify the political outcomes.
