Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared at a rally in Jalore, Rajasthan, that the Congress party is being penalized by the nation for its sins. Congress, once victorious in 400 seats, is now struggling to contest in 300 for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Modi highlighted that Rajasthan, a state enriched with patriotism, knows Congress cannot strengthen India. He insisted that the country must not regress to the pre-2014 era.
In a veiled assault on Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, Modi stated that those unable to contest or win elections have fled the field, and this election season, they've surfaced in the Senate via Rajasthan. Amidst the embattled Congress party, Sonia Gandhi emerged as one of the senators selected from Rajasthan this February.
Modi criticized the opportunistic INDI Alliance, comparing it to a prematurely cut kite. This exists only in name, he remarked, as its components are contesting each other in numerous states. With 25% of the election seats showing intra-alliance contention, Modi questioned if post-election the country could succumb to such chaotic governance.
He accused Congress of hollowing the nation with nepotism and corruption, blaming them for their present predicament. The party that once captured 400 seats is now incapable of independently contesting 300 seats. Speaking at a public meeting in support of BJP candidate Lumba Ram Choudhary in Bhinmal, Jalore district, Modi held the party responsible for its downfall.
It's noted that Rajasthan accounts for 25 Lok Sabha seats. The first phase of voting for 12 seats took place on April 19, with the remaining 13 seats scheduled for the second phase on April 26th.
