He concludes this spiritual encounter at 1:30 PM to proceed with a tribute to the statue of the revered Tamil poet, Thiruvalluvar.

Embarking on the day with a 'Surya Arghya', PM Modi practices this solemn ritual linked to spiritual customs, paying homage to the Almighty manifested as the Sun God. An official shared how the Prime Minister filled a traditional small vessel with seawater as an offering and prayed using a 'Japa Mala' (prayer beads).

Adorned in saffron attire, the Prime Minister also paid his respects to Swami Vivekananda by offering flowers to his statue and circumambulating the shrine with the 'Japa Mala' in hand.

Kanyakumari is famed for its breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, and the Rock Memorial is perched on a small island off the coast. Here, the Prime Minister began his meditation on the evening of May 30th, culminating the following afternoon.

It is notable that 131 years ago, when Swami Vivekananda visited Kanyakumari in 1892, he too initiated his meditation on the ocean rock after a devotional session at this very temple, a historic moment that Prime Minister Modi honored with his visit and meditative practice.
