On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called upon the people to take up nine resolutions to build a ‘New India’ at the renowned Sri Krishna Temple complex in Udupi, Karnataka. He remarked that achieving the status of a developed nation necessitates the involvement of every citizen.
PM Modi also urged religious leaders to join this initiative, ensuring these resolutions resonate widely and create significant impact.
Prime Minister's Key Resolutions
According to news agency PTI, while addressing the event, PM Modi underlined the importance of saving water, safeguarding rivers, and planting more trees as primary resolutions. He mentioned the campaign 'A Tree for the Mother' gaining rapid popularity, emphasizing the need to further this movement.
He appealed to citizens to commit to uplifting the life of at least one underprivileged individual.
Highlighting other resolutions, PM Modi stated, "As responsible citizens, we must adopt 'Swadeshi' (locally made products). Today, India is advancing with the mantra of 'Self-reliant India' and 'Swadeshi'. We should loudly chant 'Vocal for Local'."
Additionally, he urged the adoption of organic farming, incorporating millets for a healthier lifestyle, reducing the use of cooking oil, and embracing daily yoga practices.
Preserving Ancient Heritage and Culture
The Prime Minister urged citizens to commit to conserving ancient manuscripts/books and heritage sites. He also suggested that everyone should visit at least 25 cultural heritage sites to foster awareness and appreciation of India's rich civilization and history.
Modi affirmed that if the country's saints and spiritual leaders endorse these resolutions, the message will certainly reach everyone, accelerating the realization of New India's mission.
